The dry sprinkler head is a kind of ordinary drooping sprinkler head specially used for dry system. The most commonly used sprinkler system to deal with modern building fires is the wet sprinkler system. It is the most widely used automatic sprinkler system in the world at present, with the advantages of fast fire extinguishing, timely and efficient. Moreover, due to the special internal structure of the dry sprinkler, the sprinkler can discharge the remaining water in the system after the fire is extinguished.

However, the dry sprinkler system has some limitations, that is, the ambient temperature should be between 4 ℃ and 70 ℃. When the ambient temperature is lower than 4 ℃ and wet, the water in the pipe network may freeze; However, when the ambient temperature is higher than 70 ℃, the vaporization of water in the pipe network will intensify, which may damage the pipeline.

In order to apply the wet system to the fire protection of these special areas, such as cold storage or some high-temperature process areas, dry sprinklers came into being.

When the wet system is used to protect the cold storage, the low temperature in the cold storage may affect the water in the system pipe network. To prevent the water in the system pipe network from freezing, the exposed length of the outer pipe of the dry sprinkler must meet the requirements in the following table.

If the temperature value of the protected area is between the two temperature values given in the following table, the required outer tube exposure length can be determined by interpolation.
